If you're reading this website, you're probably thinking about starting a new course at college. You'll want to choose something you're interested in and that you think you can do well at. But you also need to think about your longer-term career plans.
Are you taking the right course for the career you want? What sort of jobs will be open to you after your course? Will you get the qualifications you need to get into the university of your choice? How will your College course help you achieve your ambitions?
We offer professional careers guidance to all our students and consider this an essential part of our service. Initially students receive help and guidance from their personal tutors on a regular basis. In addition, we have designated College staff based in Student Services who specialise in career and Higher Education advice.
Our Guidance staff help students to make decisions about employment or Higher Education and advise those who are unsure about what they want to do. All students are encouraged to use the careers libraries and resources in Student Services, which hold information on occupations, job vacancies and employers, University prospectuses and also give access to careers videos and computerised databases.

Connexions Staffordshire and Derbyshire work in partnership with Burton College to help students move successfully into work or Higher Education on completion of their College course.
