ATHENS passwords are issued to Higher Education students
by the
University associated with their course.
They are used to ensure
that only the University's students are accessing all the facilities
they subscribe to while allowing access from anywhere, including outside
of campus. This password is individual for each student and the same password
is then used to access most of the different electronic learning materials,
such as databases and journals.
The facilities that can be accessed depend
on what the University is subscribed to - ATHENS passwords from
different institutions will provide access to different materials. Burton
College does not issue passwords for Staffordshire or Nottingham Trent
Universities.
