Open Learning

Open Learning

Flexibility is key to the way we deliver education and training, and we offer our students the opportunity to learn in many ways.

Open Learning provides you with the means of obtaining nationally recognised qualifications by studying at home with one-to-one tutorials taking place within the College once a month with your personal tutor.

Most Open Learning courses involve the use of specially prepared study packs, which are purchased from the Open Learning Centre. Tutors provide help and guidance in the use of study packs and give feedback on progress.

Open Learning is particularly suitable for adults who may have difficulties in attending regular classes because of:

- work demands, such as changing shift patterns
- personal, domestic ties or personal disability
Open learning is particularly suitable for adults seeking to extend their qualifications; and people in, or seeking to return to employment.
