Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships Newstart

The Newstart section, based within our Employer Engagement Unit, is responsible for Apprenticeships. This involves recruiting potential apprentices and employers.

Apprenticeships are offered at Advanced or Foundation level. These are usually NVQ courses and combine 'on-the-job' training with time spent in College. Burton college also offers a range of Foundation Degrees which are the natural next step from an Apprenticeship.

An Apprenticeship gives you:
A firm commitment from an employer to employ and support you as the Apprenticeship; a nationally recognised NVQ; the knowledge and experience to take the first steps on successful career; and high-quality skills that are recognised across industry.
