When you enrol at Burton and South Derbyshire College, we can provide you with a wealth of support to help, not only with your studies, but also to make your time with us as enjoyable and successful as possible.
We take our responsibilities for student welfare very seriously. Our friendly Learner Services team can offer you information, advice and guidance about a range of issues relating to learning and work. They can help you make decisions about which course is right for you and can also advise you on sources of financial help and how to fit your study around family and work commitments.
Once you start College our Guidance Team can offer you services to support you whilst you are studying. This includes financial, careers and educational information, help with applying for further courses and finding employment.
For students who feel they need more help and guidance there is a personal counselling service staffed by trained counsellors, which offers you the chance to speak to someone in total confidence about any difficulties in either your personal or College life.
Learner Services is based in the Learner Hub next to the main reception desk. You are welcome to drop in anytime for a chat. During office hours there is always a receptionist to help you with any queries.
You can also book an appointment to speak to a Guidance Officer for a careers or personal interview.
